Barcelona Trip
At 1 o clock in the morning on Tuesday the 24th of April, Transition year and four teachers departed Portumna Community School on route to Dublin Airport. After reaching the Airport we made our way through security and straight to Burger King for some early morning chicken nuggets.
We boarded our flight and took off shortly after 6 o clock.
Upon arrival at Barcelona Airport, we were greeted by our tour guide and then began our tour of Barcelona City.We travelled around the city and visited several land marks, afterwards we went to the CosmoCaxia museum which was very entertaining and interesting, we seen a model display o the solar system and wax figures of the first humans along with a replica of the Amazon Rain forest. After the museum we continued our tour of the city.We the made our way to our hotel in Salou.
After dinner we were taken bowling which was very enjoyable plus it was a learning experience for me since I had never been bowling before.
On Day 2 we went on a we went on a tour of we traveled to PortaVentura, Theme Park where we spent the day enjoying the roller coasters and various rides. I really enjoyed the day as it was my first time to be on a roller coaster, Afterwards we returned back to the hotel where we got ready and left for the beach and then returned back to the pool before dinner.
After dinner the group were given permission to take a trip down into the town where we got a taste for everyone's bargaining skills which was fun to watch.
On our final day we checked out of the hotel after half nine after sleeping through our alarms. We made our way to Tarragona where we got to see a roman Amphitheatre which i found very interesting and it was like nothing i had ever seen before.
Afterwards we made our way to CampNou in Barcelona, The home of Barcelona FC, We spent our time looking at the history behind the club and then touring the stadium where we got to see the dressing rooms, the pitch and the press conference room.
After CampNou we made our way to the Maremaganum Shopping for a swift shopping trip and then onward to our flight back to Ireland with another late night ahead of us.
Overall I really enjoyed the trip to Barcelona, It has defiantly been one of my highlights for the year, I got the experience of what its like to travel alone and Iearned all about the culture of Spain alongside getting plenty of vitamin d.
