Saint Vincent De Paul Conference (Knock):
On the 14th of September, transition year travelled to Knock, Co.Mayo for a Saint Vincent De Paul Conference. Schools from all over the country attended from talks from: Father Peter McVerry, John Lonergan, Joanne O Riordan and Cara Augustine.
The day was organised for the young saint Vincent de paul which promotes young people becoming involved in commuity work.
Our schools were all split up and mixed and after each of the guest speakers talks we had to answer questions and reflect on the talks as a group.
Reflection:
I really enjoyed the day and meet loads of new people and learned loads from the very interesting talks.
I learned the importance of voicing your own opinions and how to listen and take other peoples points into consideration.
I also found the talks inspiring to make my own effort to make changes and not just follow the crowds like sheep.
